At Glendalough hermitage there is a merging of art and nature.
The scenery and the landscape has inspired may artists and sculptures
as well as writers and poets.
It is as a consequence that the Glendalough Hermitage has been
a home and an inspiration for artists of many different media.

- It stands to reason that one of the earliest universities in
Ireland was centred in Glendalough with all this natural inspiration
in the hills, lakes and valleys of the glen of the two lakes.
